Hi, my name is Richie and I am an Edinburgh based Director/Camera Operator/Editor.
After completing first an HND in Television Production at Stevenson College and then a BA (honours) Degree in Film & Media at Queen Margaret University in 2008, I began working for Edinburgh based production company Mirage Television Productions, who I worked with for 3 years. As the company’s output was entirely handled in house I worked with a variety of broadcast quality kit for corporate purposes, from shooting on Digibeta, to editing on Final Cut Pro systems, to programming and authoring DVD’s and a some audio recording too.
In my own time I also work on music promos, behind the scenes documentaries, short films, concerts and advertising promos. These shoots see me working with smaller prosumer cameras such as the Sony Z1E, the Sony EX1/EX3, the Panasonic AF101/100 and DSLR cameras such as the Canon 7D.
Since becoming self employed I have worked with a number of esteemed clients, the National trust for Scotland, HeeHaw digital, the Glasgow Film Festival, Freakworks in Edinburgh, the Edinburgh Science Festival and once again with Mirage Television.
I have my own Mac Pro – Final Cut Edit Suite which is capable of high end editing tasks. I also own a full ENG shooting kit with radio mic, rifle mic, toplight, external audio recorder, shooting with the Panasonic AF101/100 which is capable of full 1080p at 24 and 25fps.
